Job responsibilities:

The Lead-Data Scientist is responsible for developing advanced analytics models and algorithms required to bring intelligence to digital products. The incumbent will have experience with crunching large amounts of data using machine learning tools to derive insights and develop algorithms.

He / she will be required to be familiar with all major tools and techniques and have the ability to bring clarity on the best ones to use in different situations.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand the business objective and develop the data analytics plan to identify issues and propose solutions

• Integrate data from a variety of sources and look for opportunities to generate insights

• Perform complex data analysis and build models to help derive business insights, solve complex business problems and improve decisions

• Build data science models to predict risk and other key metrics

• Deploy statistical modelling and optimization techniques most suited for the business problem (using R, Python, SQL, and / or other relevant tools)

• Discuss and explain the process of data collection, architecture, associated costs trade-offs and recommendations

• Implement the model life cycle from ideation to hypothesis generation, data extraction and exploration, model building and validation, results communication, and operationalization

• Interpret and share outputs of your quantitative analysis and statistical models into specific and actionable business recommendations and implications

• Create new data sciences capabilities for the business by envisioning and executing strategies that will influence improvement of the business’s performance by enabling informed decision making

• Collaborate with diverse teams and job functions throughout the organization

• Be accessible as the subject matter expert for internal auditors on data science principles and techniques Partner with internal audit members on ad-hoc analysis in support of audit and investigations Work Experience

Education

• Advanced degree (Masters to PhD) in Computer Science / Mathematics / Operations Research / Statistics or other related fields

Experience

•  6+ years’ experience working with data science projects and applying analytical modeling to solve business problems
•  Experience working on big data assignments in analytics domains such as customer 360, car data analytics, telematics solution, predictive maintenance, pricing and purchasing optimization
•  Advanced knowledge of mathematical techniques; clustering, k-means, kernel density estimators, random forest, neural networks, regression, linear programming and Monte Carlo simulation
•  Fluent in at least two programming languages; C++, Hadoop, MATLAB, Python, R, SAS, SPSS, SQL
